This program is done at no cost to the client. Eligibility is determined by income (with priority given to the elderly, handicapped and families with young children).
Homeowners and renters are eligible. (Renters need landlord permission.)

Weatherization Assistance Program

Designed to apply energy conservation measures such as:
. Wall and attic insulation
. Air Sealing
. Thorough cleaning, tuning and minor repairs to your heating system
. Health and safety checks on all combustible appliances
. Repairing, caulking and weather stripping doors and windows to reduce air infiltration.
. Instruction of simple techniques that can help you to save on your heating and utility bills.
Heating Repair or Replacement Project
Services available to make energy saving improvements, such as emergency heating system repair or replacement (when funds are available). These services are available to low-income, elderly and handicapped.

NH Assist @ Home
Designed to help utility (electric) customers lower their operating costs by installing energy conservation measures such as:
. Insulation
. Air sealing
. Thermostats
. Hot water saving devices
. Baseload conservation
This program is available to residential customers with permanently installed electric heat. The NH utilities will pay for the home's evaluation and the installation of recommended energy conservation measures. A co-payment will be required from customers who are not low-income.

The US Department of Energy-funded program
- operated by Southern New Hampshire Services in Hillsborough County --
addresses health and safety issues, energy conservation in walls and attics, window replacements, etc. to reduce energy costs of low-income households. Priority is given to elderly and disabled and families with children under 6. Heating system repair and/or replacements is available to qualified homeowners. Weatherization is run in coordination with conservation efforts funded by National Grid, Keyspan and PSNH.
SNHS personnel and contractors strip vinyl siding off of a Manchester home and examine a drill hole before deciding that a full blow of cellulose insulation will achieve the highest R value.
Gauges are installed on a blower door to assess the same home's air tightness prior to airsealing.
